SCHOLARSHIPS

LWC offers three scholarships for graduating seniors at Rockbridge County High School.

​The Edith McClung Lackey Scholarship honors the memory of a long-time member of the Lexington Woman’s Club who herself was unable to attend college. Instead, she worked and enabled her two sisters to earn their degrees.
 

Applicants must rank in the top 50% of the senior graduating class, attend a Virginia community college, and demonstrate school and community engagement. The $500 award is need-based.

The Effa P. Quisenberry Scholarship honors the memory of a charter member of the Lexington Woman’s Club who was active from 1911 into the 1960’s.


Applicants must rank in the top 20% of the senior graduating class, attend a two- or four-year

college or university, and demonstrate school and community engagement.The $2,000 award

is need-based.

 

The Lexington Woman’s Club Scholarship honors the Club’s 100th anniversary in 2011.
 

Applicants must rank in the top 10% of the senior graduating class, attend a two- or four-year

college or university, and demonstrate school and community engagement. The $3,500 award

is need-based and can be renewed for $2,000 for a second yearwith normative progress and

a 3.0 GPA in the first year of study.
